VODAFONE UK ANNOUNCES TOTAL MANAGED MOBILITY SERVICE: GIVING BUSINESSES MORE FLEXIBILITY, SECURITY AND EFFICIENCY OVER MOBILE

  • A customizable mobile device management (MDM) service delivering the security as well as the flexibility businesses need to keep-up with employee demand for mobile device choice
  • A comprehensive and adaptable MDM portfolio enables companies to future proof themselves in the face of market change.
  • Total Managed Mobility makes it easier for IT managers to manage multiple devices and operating systems – providing peace of mind and security

Today Vodafone UK announces the launch of its new Total Managed Mobility (TMM) service for large private businesses and public sector. The service is designed to give businesses the flexibility to customise a mobile device management (MDM) solution best fit for their business whilst providing security across a range of devices and operating systems.

Vodafone’s Total Managed Mobility allows companies to choose a combination of MDM solutions to create one comprehensive device management portfolio that is easy to manage. With built-in flexibility and trusted security options, including Blackberry, Good for Enterprise and Vodafone’s Secure Device Manager (powered by Airwatch), TMM helps organisations avoid the complexities of device management, providing greater control of costs and mitigating the risks associated with change within the software and device market.

“Mobile device management is critical to every organisation, but purchasing multiple services on a one-off basis can create a complex, disparate solution that is difficult to manage and isn’t future proofed,” said David Langhorn, Head of Corporate and Large Enterprise at Vodafone UK. “Businesses are looking for a secure, simple way to manage all the mobile devices across all operating systems that their employees use for work, without having to purchase a new application every time a new device comes onto the market. That’s why we’ve launched the new TMM service – giving IT managers the peace of mind that they’ve got device management and security covered.”

Managing a multitude of devices and ensuring security software and upgrades are up-to-date continues to be a challenge that many company IT departments face. This process can be very arduous as well as costly, therefore companies can be tempted to choose an MDM product that attempts to address the majority of device and operating system scenarios. By doing this, however, companies can risk the safety and security of critical company information and productivity can be compromised. Therefore, it is important for companies to invest in one comprehensive managed mobility solution that allows companies to more effectively plan for the future, as well as their budgets, ensuring they have capacity to cope with ongoing change without damaging the bottom line.

Vodafone’s TMM service also allows businesses to choose where their technology is managed – either in the cloud, through a dedicated hosting solution or on their own premises – and at a level of managed service that best fits their business needs.

“With so much market change, and security being more important than ever, companies need a trusted provider that can deliver a wide range of product and service offerings based on their individual needs,” says David Langhorn. “Vodafone understands the pressures businesses face in managing workforce mobility while ensuring productivity and competitive advantage within today’s fast moving market. Therefore TMM is designed to help alleviate this pressure enabling organisations to focus on their core business.”
