Vodafone extends network coverage across Exeter

Vodafone customers across Exeter now enjoy fast 4G mobile data speeds as well as a more reliable 3G voice signal – both indoors and out.

Vodafone continues to make network improvements in the city of Exeter, expanding coverage to over 99% of the city’s population. As a result, Vodafone customers across Exeter now enjoy fast 4G mobile data speeds as well as a more reliable 3G voice signal – both indoors and out.

These improvements have seen mobile data traffic across Exeter rocket. Customers’ daily data usage has increased by over 170% in the last few years and now equates to listening to over 350,000 music tracks[i].

Residents are now able to download music and catch up on their favourite movies or TV shows faster than ever before. 4G also helps local businesses boost their productivity. With 4G technology, employees can use their mobile devices to work wherever they are, whether it’s at a client’s office, at home, or on a train. Tourists benefit too – faster data speeds mean online maps and websites with key visitor information take less time to load.

Tom Marks, Vodafone Regional lead for the South West, said: “We want Exeter to benefit from fast, reliable 4G across the city, and I’m delighted that our customers are already taking advantage of our improved network. We will continue to work hard to improve coverage in Exeter, the surrounding area and across Devon, so that more customers can enjoy our network wherever they go.”[ii]
