Wasps Netball returns to the court with Vodafone UK’s backing

Vodafone UK goes behind the scenes with Wasps Netball, as the team warms up for the Vitality Netball Superleague.

As the build up to the start of the Vitality Netball Superleague on Friday 12 February continues, Wasps Netball and Vodafone are proud to present Return to Court.

This three-part series explores the Wasps Netball team and reflects upon the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the team and the industry.

The Vitality Netball Superleague was cancelled after just four rounds in 2020, which saw the immediate end of the season. However, with the 2021 season on the horizon, Wasps are ready to return to court in the hope of reclaiming the title that they previously held in 2018.

Episode one follows the team as it deals with the effects of the pandemic both from a team and business standpoint.

Episode two delves into the role of the leadership team during the pandemic and the ways in which they kept the team ready and motivated for the new season.

Episode three gives a unique insight into the lives of Wasps netball stars Sophie Candappa and Amy Flanagan, who both balance their professional careers with full time teaching jobs.

The Return to Court series presented by Vodafone highlights the daily work-life balance challenges that our athletes and staff have overcome during the course of the pandemic in order to get back on court for the 2021 season,” said Sarah Taylor, Wasps Netball Franchise Manager.

By producing this content, our main club partner, Vodafone, has once again shown its commitment to not only this club but also to highlighting the challenges within women’s sport,” said Adam Benson, Wasps Chief Commercial Officer.

Anne Sheehan, Business Director, Vodafone UK, said: “It’s great to see the Vitality Netball Superleague making its return this week. This new series in collaboration with Wasps Netball will give fans a behind-the-scenes look into the team and players as they prepare for the new season.

“As the main partner to Wasps Netball, we look forward to seeing the team back in action.”
