Vodafone named in HERoes Women Future Leaders Role Model 2021 List

Caroline Southall, Senior Sales Manager and Chair of the Vodafone Women’s Network, enters the exclusive List for her work supporting women and allies across the workplace.

Since taking on the voluntary role of Chair just nine months ago, Caroline has already established a new operating model for the Network, recruiting 40 volunteers from a broad range of professions and backgrounds to help achieve its ambitions.

The network also holds advisory sessions with Vodafone’s Chief Executive and General Management Team in the UK, using feedback from women across the company to highlight how they can better support its workforce.

The judges said they were impressed by Caroline’s decision to match the group goals with other networks across the business, taking an intersectional approach to key issues like impostor syndrome, the menopause, and work-life balance.

“Our ambition is to create a safe place where people, primarily women, in our business can raise thoughts, ideas or challenges without judgement,” Caroline explained.

“We have clear targets, but most importantly we want our brand to be known for diversity, inclusion, and progress.

“’Inclusion for all’ starts at the top and is a fundamental part of our purpose. It’s what makes us proud to work for Vodafone.”

The respected HERoes List, which also recognises role models in the ethnic minority and LGBT+ space, showcases leaders who are championing women in business and driving change for gender diversity in the workplace.

Accepting the award, Caroline said: “This recognition acknowledges not only the work of the Women’s Network at Vodafone, but the broader diversity and inclusion agenda that our amazing employee networks and their leadership teams, drive.

They all help to ensure that Vodafone is a truly inclusive employer that not only welcomes difference but also supports and promotes it.”
