ESPN showcases new British & Irish Lions 2021 jersey and Vodafone app

Sports network ESPN showed off the new jersey for the British & Irish Lions 2021 Tour of South Africa in a livestream show on its UK Facebook, YouTube and Twitter channels.

As Lead Partner for the Tour, Vodafone’s logo appears prominently on the front of the shirt.

Rugby fans saw the new official Lions app in action. Designed by Vodafone UK, the app enables fans to ‘Become a Lion’ by creating their own virtual avatars and sharing them on social media as part of the #UniteThePride campaign.

The show was presented by pundit and former rugby union player David ‘Flats’ Flatman and TV presenter Sarra Elgan. They were joined by several Lions legends, including Sam Warburton, Jeremy Guscott, Sir Ian McGeechan, Maggie Alphonsi, and Paul O’Connell.

As well as demonstrating the ‘Digital Lions’ avatar feature of the app, the all-star line-up of guests debated their own starting team line-ups using the app’s XV Selector feature.

Vodafone UK customers can buy their own jersey, with 20% off, through the VeryMe rewards programme.

The show was livestreamed on ESPN UK’s Facebook, YouTube or Twitter channels.
